Back to client list »Alice Lascelles is an award-winning drinks journalist, author and presenter.
She is a contributing editor on the Financial Times, where she has a popular column covering wine, spirits and bar culture. Her articles and columns have also appeared in The Times, The Economist, Monocle, Vice, Food & Wine and many trade and specialist publications including the Oxford Companion to Spirits & Cocktails.
Alice is an expert on the production and provenance of drinks, but most of all she loves the stories that go with them. Her subjects have ranged from the rise of Japanese whisky and the science of bubbles, to profiles of Syria’s only working winery and the bar scene that helped regenerate New Orleans post-Katrina. One of her favourite gigs was interviewing physicist Professor Brian Cox about his love of champagne for the FT.
She is a seasoned presenter and can often be found talking about drinks on BBC Radio 4 programmes including The Food Programme and Kitchen Cabinet, and on the TV. In October 2019 she presented Amazon’s first live-streamed whisky tasting and has given talks and lead tastings at international festivals on both sides of the Atlantic.
Her awards include Fortnum & Mason Drinks Writer of the Year and IWSC Spirits Communicator of the Year. In 2013 she was made a Keeper of the Quaich in recognition of her work in whisky.
Alice is the author of two books. Her second, The Cocktail Edit: Everything You Need to Know About How to Make All The Drinks That Matter (Quadrille 2022) was named a Book of the Year by the Financial Times, The Times, The Telegraph and Esquire.
Before she became a journalist, Alice studied English at Cambridge and spent several years working in the arts. She’s also a musician with a White Stripes tour and several releases – including an album under the name Alice Gun – under her belt. Her other great loves are gardening and fell walking.
She lives in London with her husband, two sons and cocker spaniel Daisy.

Alice did a brilliant job at Aon earlier in the week. She was the perfect balance of light-hearted and informative, and it was a great way to round off a long day.
