Alice is an award-winning drinks journalist, author, and presenter. She is a contributing editor on the Financial Times, where she has a column covering wine, spirits, and bar culture. Her articles have also appeared in The TimesThe EconomistMonocleVice, Food & Wine and in specialist publications including the Oxford Companion to Spirits & Cocktails.

Alice is an expert on the production and provenance of drinks and writes about the stories that accompany them. Her subjects have ranged from the rise of Japanese whisky and the science of bubbles, to profiles of Syria’s only working winery and the bar scene that helped regenerate New Orleans post-Katrina. Alice also interviewed physicist Professor Brian Cox about his love of champagne for the FT.

As a presenter Alice has appeared on programmes such as Sunday Brunch (Channel 4), Alan Titchmarsh’s Love Your Weekend (ITV), The Food Programme and Kitchen Cabinet (Radio 4) and also hosted Amazon’s first live-streamed whisky tasting.

Her awards include Fortnum & Mason Drinks Writer of the Year and IWSC Spirits Communicator of the Year. In 2013 she was made a Keeper of the Quaich in recognition of her work surrounding Whisky.

Alice is the author of two books. Her second, The Cocktail Edit, was published in September 2022 and made the Sunday Times Bestseller list.
