Claudia Winkleman is an award winning and BAFTA nominated presenter who is one of the most in-demand television hosts today. Combining mainstream appeal with her own brand of wit, she is the perfect host for any event, from large scale awards to more boutique affairs.
Claudia presents BBC shows Strictly Come Dancing, the BBC Film show and The Great British Sewing Bee. She has recently taken over as the voice of Sunday nights on BBC Radio 2. She also writes a new weekly style column for The Sunday Times, having previously written for The Independent and The Evening Standard.
Despite being half woman, half fringe, Claudia has successfully managed to claim ownership of two of the BBC’s flagship arts programmes by the clever means of attaching ‘with Claudia Winkleman’ to their titles, resulting in BBC Radio 2’s The Arts Show with Claudia Winkleman which she hosted for six years until earlier this year and BBC1’s Film 2016 with Claudia Winkleman and Danny Leigh.
When not discussing the latest Hockney exhibition or chatting about Spielberg’s most recent offering, Claudia loves nothing more than a twirl with Len Goodman. This had the potential to be quite awkward, so thankfully for all concerned the BBC devised Strictly Come Dancing. In 2014, she joined Tess Daly to host for the main show. Prior to this, Claudia indulged her love of fake tan hosting Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two on BBC2, getting all the behind the scenes gossip. She also hosted The People’s Strictly, opening up the members of the public for the first time ever.
In 2015, Claudia appeared on BBC 1’s Watchdog to give an exclusive interview to Chris Hollins about her daughter Matilda’s accident and to highlight fire safety issues surrounding children’s fancy dress costumes.
Claudia is a huge supporter of Comic Relief and for the last few years has been one of the main presenters for both Red Nose Day and Sport Relief. Rather handily, in 2009, Comic Relief decided they needed more sequins and dancing in their campaign so called on Claudia’s knowledge of a ‘fleckle’ to host the first two series of Let’s Dance for Sport Relief and Comic Relief. For Red Nose Day 2015, Claudia hosted the first ever Comic Relief Danceathon. 2013 saw her gamely stepping into the tent to take part in The Great Comic Relief Bake Off. After a few soggy bottoms it became apparent that baking may not be Claudia’s thing, however undeterred she branched off in a different direction of homemaking to present the brand new series The Great British Sewing Bee for BBC2. The fourth series began in 2016.
Having presented the Sky Premiere coverage of both the Golden Globes and the Academy Awards it could be easily said that Claudia loves nothing more than dancing and films. This is true. However over the years she has presented many other things, some on TV and some on radio.
Claudia’s impressive corporate portfolio ranges from presenting corporate DVDs for John Lewis, Clarks and BAA, to acting as MC for the Samsung 3D TV Launch and fronting campaigns for Cadbury’s and Air New Zealand, to hosting numerous awards ceremonies, including the prestigious British Fashion Awards, the InStyle Awards, the BCSC Purple Apple Awards, Drapers Etail Awards, the HSBC Awards, the Carphone Warehouse Appy Awards, Quintessentially Awards, Clynol Business and Creative Awards, the New Media Age Awards, and the Campaign Digital Awards.
Claudia has presented the prestigious GQ Food & Drink Awards and the Glamour: Women of the Year Awards. In 2015 she won Presenter of The Year with Strictly co-host, Tess Daly. Alongside her Glamour Award, Claudia scooped up a Royal Television Award for Best Presenter and was nominated for a BAFTA with Strictly Come Dancing.
Claudia graduated from Cambridge University with an MA Honours in History of Art. She lives in London with her husband and three children.

Dear Claudia – I’d like to thank you again for your contribution to the event. The time and effort that you spent, not only in ensuring the Sale Awards and party were a success but also socialising and having pictures taken with our team, was really appreciated by everyone. You were the talk of the Sales team and feedback that I’ve seen so far has been amazing.

Claudia was a total star last night
Claudia was just fabulous. I really didn’t think we could top Richard Hammond at Southampton Boat Show or James Corden at London but Claudia was utterly charming, brilliantly professional and both Eddie Jordan and Robert Braithwaite worked extremely well with her.
I just wanted to ask if you could please pass on our enormous thanks to Claudia for yesterday. She was an absolute pleasure to work with, really lovely and we were thrilled with her hosting. We particularly liked how natural and charming she was when presenting despite admitting that she was slightly nervous. I know that people were incredibly excited that she was hosting and she was very kind after the ceremony, posing for photos and speaking to the winners so this was really appreciated.
I just wanted to send you a personal email to let you know how great Claudia was! She was the most down to earth, laid back nicest person to work with! All the girls on my team loved working with her. The feedback we have had on her hosting the show has been great and she presented the awards perfectly with a speedy, cheeky great personality! I hope she enjoyed the evening as much as we did. We would love to work with her again in the future…
Claudia was fabulous and everyone thought she was the perfect co-host. We really thought she was great – extremely warm and the crowd loved her!
Claudia did very well. She had them eating out of her hands, she was very respectful of the industry and created a great atmosphere. Please thank her from all of us; we would love to work with her again.
[Claudia was] thoroughly personable and professional. Everything we had hoped for and more in a Presenter and exactly right for that audience. We loved her and several guests have asked us to book her for next year’s awards, although alas I have a feeling she’ll be doing Strictly again!
