Back to client list »Born and raised in Harlow to Jamaican parents, comedian, host and podcaster Darran Griffiths has a blend of Caribbean confidence and Essex irreverence.
Darran has performed at some of the London’s top comedy clubs, including The Comedy Store, Top Secret, The 100 Club and The Hackney Empire. Darran has supported some of the country’s top comics, Russell Howard, Iain Stirling, Judi Love, Simon Brodkin and Kojo Amin.
After an exciting debut on the circuit in 2018, Darran was a nominee for BBC’s New Comedy Award and was Leicester Square Theatre’s New Comedian runner-up. Darran’s debut show Essex Bwoy was a sell-out at Camden Fringe in 2019, followed by being a British Comedian of the Year semi-finalist in 2021. 2022 saw Darran reach the semi-finals of BBC’s New Comedy Award and British Comedian of the Year.
Darran’s TV and Radio credits include BBC Three, Yanga TV, BBC Radio and Pulse88 FM, where he presented and produced a weekly Saturday morning radio show called The Saturday Morning Hangover.
He has been tour support for BBC Radio’s Aurie Styla, and performed as part of the national WAHALA Tour: Jamaica vs Africa, with Britain’s Got Talents’ Kojo Anim.
Since 2017, Darran has hosted the weekly podcast Griff’s Brain Dump, where he discusses current affairs and his personal life. In 2023 Darran launched Late Nights & Wet Wipes, a weekly parenthood podcast, co-hosted by fellow comedians and recent father Kazeem Jamal & Michael Akadiri.
This year, Darran will make his Edinburgh Fringe debut, with his new show Inconceivable. The show comedically and candidly explores the highs and lows of tackling infertility and IVF, in the pursuit of becoming a dad, a better husband and maybe a better person.
