Marianna Spring is an award-winning journalist, author, and broadcaster renowned for exposing the real-world impact of online misinformation, conspiracy movements, hate, and the powerful influence of social media and its algorithms on society and democracy.

In 2020, she was appointed as the BBC's first Disinformation and Social Media Reporter - a pioneering role that reflected the growing urgency of the digital information crisis. By 2024, her remit had evolved into Social Media Investigations Correspondent, cementing her position as one of the UK's leading authorities on online harm and its real-world consequences.

Marianna has fronted multiple high-profile investigations across BBC platforms, including BBC Panorama, BBC Three, and BBC Radio 4. Her podcast series Marianna in Conspiracyland charted the rise of conspiracy theory movements in the UK, while Why Do You Hate Me? interrogated extreme cases of social media abuse and digital harm. For Panorama, she has investigated the impact of social media on teenagers, the tactics used by conspiracy theorists to target survivors of terror attacks, the transformation of Twitter following its acquisition by Elon Musk, and the rise of online abuse directed at women. Marianna is also co-host of the BBC's Americast podcast, where she provides a wider analysis of how social media is reshaping society, democracy, and elections across the globe, and the recently launched Top Comment, with fellow KBJ client Matt Shea. This new podcast explores the stories behind social media trends, viral content and their real life consequences

She has been named Best Host at both the ARIAS and the British Podcast Awards. Her debut book, Among the Trolls: My Journey Through Conspiracyland, was published by Atlantic Books in 2024.

A powerful and authoritative speaker, Marianna offers audiences a unique, evidence-based perspective on disinformation, online radicalisation, and the challenges facing democracy in the digital age. She is an exceptional choice for keynote speeches, fireside conversations, and panel discussions on media, technology, and society.
