Martha Kearney is one of the UK’s most respected and versatile broadcasters, with a career spanning nearly four decades at the heart of British journalism.
Best known for her six-year tenure presenting Today programme on BBC Radio 4, Martha has been at the helm of some of the UK’s most enduring political and current affairs broadcasts. From Newsnight on BBC Two, to almost a decade on Woman's Hour and eleven years presenting The World at One, her breadth of experience is exceptional. Her authoritative yet accessible style has made her one of the most trusted voices in British broadcasting.
In recent years, Martha stepped down from Today to pursue new presenting roles on Radio 4, fronting her own interview series This Natural Life and joining the presenting team on Open Country.
Her passion for the natural world is reflected in her documentary work beyond the newsroom. A beekeeper herself, Martha has brought genuine expertise and enthusiasm to Who Killed the Honey Bee? for BBC Four, The Wonder of Bees with Martha Kearney, and Hive Alive for BBC Two, alongside documentaries spanning history, literature, and art.
Martha has won a Sony Radio Bronze Award and received a BAFTA nomination for her coverage of the Northern Ireland peace process.
