Matt Shea is an award-nominated journalist, presenter, and documentary filmmaker whose fearless, immersive approach to storytelling has made him one of the most compelling investigative voices of his generation.
His documentaries for the BBC, Vice, and Channel 4 have accumulated more than 150 million views, spanning audiences across Millennial and Gen Z viewers worldwide. In 2023, Matt broke one of the year's biggest stories with The Dangerous Rise of Andrew Tate, his Emmy and Paul Foot nominated BBC documentary. Further high-profile films followed, including Logan Paul: Bad Influence? and the most highly-viewed episode of Channel 4's Dispatches, which exposed the UK's organised shoplifting gangs. His investigative work has taken him inside the Albanian mafia and Colombian cartels, into the world of far-right leadership, and to the brink of a near-death experience alongside Wim Hof.
During his time at Vice, Matt produced the Emmy-nominated Gaycation, the Grierson-nominated feature-length documentary Chemsex, and created and presented the popular series High Society. He also directed the feature film Time To Die, an exploration of the global underground euthanasia movement that won Best Film at Fragments Film Festival, and Imogen, nominated for Best Music Film at the UK Music Video Awards.
A prolific writer, Matt has contributed to Vice, The Times, and The Guardian, and is co-author, with Jamie Tahsin, of Clown World: Four Years Inside Andrew Tate's Manosphere, which was recently nominated for the Sperber Prize. As one of the foremost authorities on Andrew Tate and the manosphere, he is regularly called upon to commentate across major broadcasters, including CNN's Jake Tapper show and ITV's Good Morning Britain.
Most recently, Matt co-launched Top Comment alongside fellow journalist and KBJ client Marianna Spring; a new podcast exploring the stories behind social media trends, viral content, and their real-life consequences.
A provocative and authoritative live presence, Matt is available for keynote speaking, fireside conversations, and panel discussions on topics including investigative journalism, online culture, radicalisation, and the real-world impact of social media.
