Simon Amstell is one of the UK's most distinctive and critically acclaimed comedic voices, with a career spanning stand-up, television presenting, screenwriting, and film direction.
Best known as a presenter of Channel 4's Popworld and BBC Two's Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Simon established himself early as a sharp, subversive, and uniquely engaging on-screen presence. He was the youngest finalist of the BBC New Comedy Awards, a distinction that foreshadowed a career marked by consistent critical recognition.
His transition into film has been equally celebrated. His debut mockumentary Carnage, a witty and thought-provoking vision of a vegan future, aired on BBC iPlayer to widespread acclaim, while his feature film Benjamin premiered at the London Film Festival before receiving international critical praise. His stand-up special Set Free is also available on Netflix.
A natural and compelling live performer, Simon regularly performs at major festivals and comedy clubs across the UK and has undertaken multiple sell-out tours and residencies in the UK, United States, and Australia.
His accolades include an RTS Award, a Broadcast Award, two British Comedy Awards, and a BAFTA nomination.
